Assistant Project Manager
We're looking for an assistant project manager with experience in high-end residential construction in Manhattan. You will support the project manager and field team, keeping project information current and following through on the decisions, deliveries and coordination that keep an apartment renovation moving.
What you will do
- Help maintain project schedules, material orders, delivery logs and lists of outstanding decisions and tasks.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers, track lead times and flag anything that could affect the construction sequence.
- Track finish selections, samples, shop drawings and approval requests so the field team has current information.
- Visit project sites, document progress with photos and written updates, and follow up on open items with the site supervisor.
- Coordinate deliveries, elevator reservations, access and working hours with building staff and management.
- Record meeting decisions and follow up with clients and the design team as directed by the project manager.
- Assist with quantity takeoffs, proposal comparisons, invoice review and change-order documentation.
- Help maintain punch lists and assemble closeout records, warranties and care information.
What we are looking for
- Previous experience supporting high-end residential construction projects in Manhattan, including apartment renovations.
- An understanding of co-op and condo building logistics, trade sequencing and the level of detail required for high-end finishes.
- Ability to read construction and millwork drawings, maintain organized records and communicate clearly in writing and in person.
- Comfortable working with Excel or Google Sheets and shared digital project files.
- Strong follow-through, sound judgment and the ability to manage several open items without losing track of the details.
Send your resume and a brief description of the Manhattan residential projects you have worked on, including your role and responsibilities.
