How We Work
We begin by understanding your home and what you want from it. Detailed planning, careful estimating, daily supervision, and clear communication carry that understanding through the work.

Know What Is Happening and Why
A well-managed renovation gives you the information you need to make confident decisions. We explain the scope, work through the details, and help you understand how selections and changes may affect cost, timing, and the finished home.
Our team performs much of the construction and finish work directly. A dedicated site supervisor oversees the day-to-day work alongside project management, while ownership remains involved throughout. Specialist trades and design professionals are coordinated as the project requires.

What to Expect From Stanton
We start by discussing your goals, expectations, timing, and any plans already prepared. During a walkthrough, we review the layout, proposed scope, and visible conditions, along with practical details such as delivery routes, elevator access, hallway clearances, and other conditions that may affect the work.
Those observations help us identify questions that should be investigated with the appropriate trades and design professionals before the scope and price are finalized.
Early involvement helps connect the design to the construction budget and the realities of the building. We can review developing plans, discuss construction considerations, and help identify where your investment will have the greatest effect on the home.
We encourage thoughtful investment in the underlying work, including sound plumbing and electrical infrastructure, appropriate waterproofing, and properly prepared surfaces. We can also help you consider practical choices for tile, stone, appliances, storage, and finishes so the budget reflects your priorities.
Our proposals break the project into understandable line items organized by trade or construction division. We describe the scope and identify relevant allowances, exclusions, and responsibilities.
The goal is to make the estimate useful. You should be able to understand what is included, how the price was developed, and which decisions remain open.
We build pricing around the labor required for each stage, the expected time involved, materials, specialist trade pricing, disclosed markups, and the conditions of the individual project.
Because we perform much of the work ourselves, we have direct visibility into many of those labor and scheduling requirements. Our goal is to identify foreseeable needs before construction so you can make decisions against a carefully developed scope.
We establish the written scope and agreement, review building requirements, and coordinate what needs to happen before work can begin. Depending on the project, that can include the construction schedule, site access and protection, contractor documentation, material planning, and applicable permits and approvals.
We also coordinate with building management and the professionals responsible for design, filings, and inspections. Construction begins when the project has the approvals, access, information, and materials required to move forward.
Samples help you understand how a material or finish will actually look before it is carried through the project. Depending on the work, that can include tile and grout, paint applied to the walls, floor stains and sealers, millwork species and finishes, and molding profiles.
We work through refinements where needed, and approved samples become a shared reference for the finished work. The appropriate level of sampling is established for the individual project.
A dedicated site supervisor monitors the work and coordinates day to day with project management. Ownership remains involved in every project, with the management structure adjusted to the size and complexity of the renovation.
When architectural review, engineering, or special inspections are required, we coordinate with the professionals responsible for that work as well.
You'll receive a project schedule and progress reports with photos, supported by regular email and phone communication. Formal reporting may be weekly or monthly depending on the project, with site walkthroughs held weekly or every two weeks when appropriate to the stage of construction.
Updates cover completed work, what's coming next, and decisions requiring attention. When a question affects the project, we discuss the available options and any known effect on cost or scheduling.
Renovations can reveal conditions that weren't visible before work began. When that happens, we document what we've found, explain the concern, and involve the appropriate project professionals.
We review the available options and known implications before proceeding with the affected work. Concealed conditions are considered on their individual facts, with the goal of resolving them fairly and keeping you informed.
We approach changes with the same care as the original estimate. Some small requests or adjustments may be accommodated within the work and are considered individually. Larger additions or changes involving additional cost are explained and priced before proceeding, with the required written authorization.
We take responsibility for reasonable requirements we should have anticipated in our estimate. Client-requested additions and genuinely concealed conditions are reviewed based on the circumstances, with clear communication around the resulting cost.
Protection and housekeeping are part of the job. We use negative air machines and wet mats as part of our dust-control measures, protect common areas and access routes, and keep the work area organized.
Deliveries, debris removal, and use of building facilities are coordinated with management and staff. We also expect courteous conduct from everyone working with us because the way construction affects the building is part of the standard we hold ourselves to.
As the renovation approaches completion, we review the finishing details and remaining items with you and coordinate completion of the agreed work. We also handle applicable closeout coordination, including permit closeout and DOB inspection activity with the responsible parties.
You'll receive a construction binder documenting selected finishes and products, including colors and relevant care information. It becomes a useful reference for maintaining materials such as hardwood flooring and stone after the renovation is complete.
Whenever possible, the project manager already familiar with your home remains involved in warranty and maintenance follow-up. That continuity is valuable when an adjustment, question, or future need arises.
You can contact Stanton to discuss a concern or ongoing care. Applicable warranty obligations follow your project agreement, while additional maintenance or future work can be scoped based on the home's needs.
